Hannah Crum is a Buffalo, West Virginia, native who majors in Agri-Business in the Business Administration department at West Virginia State University. She is a freshman, who mainly takes junior-level courses after taking various dual-credit courses whilst in high school. Hannah serves as a State FFA Officer (President), and attends many conferences throughout the year, in addition to attending her classes and maintaining her scholarship and status as a NextGen Scholar. When asked to describe her in three words, close faculty calls Hannah dependable, well-spoken, and a model student. We are so proud of Hannah, and all that she has achieved at WVSU. Go STATE!

📖Why did you pick WVSU and your major?

“I wanted to get my college degree while also staying debt-free. With my major, I wanted to be able to help children, but I didn’t want to teach them. With my major, I’ve been able to really impact the lives of children and I know that after graduation, will be able to do so even more.”

🏃‍♀️What is your favorite thing to do at WVSU?

“I really like to workout, so a lot of times I will take a nice walk around campus. I love that it’s so flat because it makes the walks a lot more enjoyable. I am also involved with a group trying to put together a collegiate livestock team, where you judge livestock! Hopefully we are able to do that here at WVSU. I’m also so happy to serve as a State FFA Officer [President], where I go to a bunch of conferences throughout the year to enhance my experience.”

🖤💛If you could give advice to any prospective student, what would it be?

“Definitely look for those scholarships that can allow you to be debt-free. There is so much money out there dedicated to students, and I think everyone should try to take advantage of it. State also offers a bunch of online classes, which is perfect for those who learn better through that format.”
